Introduzione in, on, at in inglese per i luoghi

Regola base:

  • at → punto preciso
  • on → contatto con superficie
  • in → spazio chiuso / area

1. “At” (punto preciso)

👉 Usa at quando pensi a un punto specifico

Esempi:

  • at the bus stop
  • at the door
  • at the entrance
  • at the station

Frasi:

  • I am at the bus stop
  • She is at the door
  • We meet at the station

2. “On” (superficie)

👉 Usa on quando qualcosa poggia su una superficie

Esempi:

  • on the table
  • on the wall
  • on the floor
  • on the screen

Frasi:

  • The book is on the table
  • The picture is on the wall
  • My phone is on the desk

Ad esempio: l’aereo sta volando sopra al Mar Mediterraneo” → The plane is flying over the Mediterranean Sea.

Leggi l’articolo completo sulle differenze tra on e over.

3. “In” (dentro/spazio chiuso)

👉 Usa in quando qualcosa è dentro uno spazio

Esempi:

  • in the room
  • in the house
  • in the car
  • in the city

Frasi:

  • I am in the room
  • She is in the house
  • They live in Milan

4. Differenze importanti

👉 at vs in (luoghi)

“At” si usa per indicare la posizione, mentre “in” significa che sei all’interno del luogo.

  • at the school → sei lì come posizione generale, magari sei nel cortile, magari appena fuori al cancello
  • in the school → sei dentro l’edificio della scuola.

Alcuni mezzi di trasporto vogliono “in”, altri vogliono “on”. Vediamo le differenze.

👉 in vs on (trasporti)

  • on si usa con mezzi dove puoi muoverti liberamente, camminare, stare in piedi: on the bus, on the train, on a plane.
